Precious Seeds

"Let us think of every project as precious seeds. Guide our hands to plant with love, to water the rows with diligence and to treasure the sowing process as much as the impending harvest. May we plant with conscious intention. When we have a Very Good Idea, helps our minds align with our hearts to know if it is the one to set in the soil. Let love drive the plow." ~ excerpt from 'Honoring New Life' from the book Prayers of Honoring by Pixie Lighthorse

Welcome Spring! There was so much snow this year on the West Coast, and we are all welcoming the warmer temperatures, Spring rains, and mornings filled with birdsong. Sweet music to my ears!

It is always such a joy to be working out back in my garden, removing the decayed matter from herbs and perennial plants to find new growth happening underneath. The cycle continues, the sap begins to flow again in the trees, the little buds and leaves start to push through, and there is a blossoming happening in my heart as well. I too am removing the old matter that is covering the new, and I am seeing glimpses of upcoming projects... precious seeds.

I am a slow bloomer, and yet I bloom. I have come to love this about myself... my slower pace. In all my years of ballet classes, I was the one who loved the adagio dances best. Adagio means: in a slow manner. To me, adagio also holds so much grace. A slow, graceful movement. This is also my attraction to Yin Yoga, and the slower movements allow for grace, for contemplation, for connection with breath, for feeling inner feelings, for release.

There has been room lately for much contemplation, and I have also been meditating regularly again. I've noticed my body is buzzing with sensation as I do my conscious scans. Little bubbles and rivulets... like fizzy water. There is action happening within, my sap is beginning to run again... like the trees.

Yesterday, a Very Good Idea arose in me while I was making dinner. I felt an inner shiver and my knees went a bit weak, because it was a bit of a revelation. I turned to look out the window and just as I did, the sun broke through the clouds and a glorious sun shower began. I stood there with my hands over my heart and got a bit teared up by the beauty. My mind aligned with my heart and I recognized that I had just touched into a deep forgiveness... one that I needed to touch to flip the switch to birth the revelation. It was a precious moment. I am holding it all in for awhile, coddling this precious seed for a time until I'm ready to take action.

Wishing you all the bliss of unexpected insights and inner blooming. Spring is a beautiful time to move slow and notice your surroundings. Also notice what is going on within you. What sensations are there? What is ready to flower? And what needs to be planted with conscious intention?
